Illinois Public Pension Laws and Impacts on Labor Relations and Interest Arbitration

Panelist will briefly discuss the current Illinois public safety pension laws for both small municipal employers and the pension law for the City of Chicago and how the funding requirements are impacting employer collective bargaining stances and how the Unions are responding to the pension crisis.  Arbitrator Bierig will also discuss how the pensions are impacting and being considered in interest arbitration proceedings.
